Upgrades and enhancements improve performance of the OmniCure® S2000
QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, January 6, 2009 - EXFO Inc.'s Life Sciences and Industrial Division (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) announced today several important product enhancements and software upgrades to its most popular UV/Visible Spot Curing System, the OmniCure® S2000. These upgrades reinforce the precision, flexibility, and quality that OmniCure® users have come to depend on.
The OmniCure® S2000 now has a significantly faster shutter activation time with a maximum trigger to shutter activation latency of only 50ms in PLC Mode. This represents an improvement of over 70% and will directly lead to increased productivity for high volume optoelectronics manufacturing assembly applications.
In addition enhancements to EXFO's StepCure® software, used to deliver faster and stronger cures to minimize shrinkage and increase resistance to humidity, now allows customers the option of downloading a customized multi-phase cure profile directly to the system. This provides convenience and greater efficiencies to customers who were previously limited to using StepCure® while connected to a desktop PC.
"The improvements to the OmniCure® S2000 performance were driven directly by close collaboration with our customers" said Allan Firhoj, Vice President and General Manager of EXFO's Life Sciences and Industrial Division. "At EXFO we have always been committed to continuously increasing production yields and throughput with high quality best-in-class products."

QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, January 14, 2004-EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) announced today the release of a new high-power fiber light guide for its line of UV/visible spot-curing systems.
EXFO's high-power fiber light guide provides an equal distribution of light energy to multiple cure sites from a single light source. This optical accessory offers 50% more power throughput than industry standard fiber guides, allowing greater flexibility in the curing process. EXFO's fiber light guide also generates 30% more power than standard multi-legged, liquid light guides and it does not require balancing. It is ideal for curing multiple parts simultaneously or instantly tacking complex assemblies in several locations to ensure critical alignments.
"Multi-legged light guides provide an economical method of curing multiple locations simultaneously by using a single light source," said Allan Firhoj, Vice-President and General Manager of EXFO's Photonics and Life Sciences Division. "But more energy to the cure site and equal distribution between legs are key benefits the new EXFO high power fiber guide has over current multi-legged light guides."
EXFO is the industry leader in light-based, adhesive spot-curing as well as curing process control for the manufacturing of fiber-optic and opto-electronic components. "When combined with EXFO's OmniCure Series 2000, it provides a complete curing system with unmatched control and repeatability."
The R2000 Radiometer measures power and irradiance from industry-standard light guides. A proximity measurement adapter is available for non-standard or remote sensing applications. A lamp output adapter can be used to measure lamp power directly in order to check for degradation of the light guide. The R2000 Radiometer is simple to operate even with added features like a light-guide detector and color-coded, light-guide adapter. The R2000 Radiometer will even alert the operator when it is due for calibration.
Special electronics built into the R2000 Radiometer enable the connection of custom sensors for measuring light directly at the cure site. Cure-site radiometry provides the most accurate form of process control by measuring the amount of light energy at the adhesive.
